When you’re a star…

I’m not a political guy, but I do love me a good Trump quote every once in a while, to tickle my fancy.

One of my top fave Trump quotes was published by the Washington Post in 2016 when Trump told Billy Bush that you can basically kiss and touch a beautiful woman without her consent because: “When you’re a star, they let you do it.”

I know when that video first surfaced, it was met with much controversy because he was basically saying he could kiss and touch a woman without her consent, and that ultimately she’d allow it because he’s a celebrity or rich or whatever.

But…

He’s kind of right isn’t he? Don’t ugly wealthy guys get special treatment?

A friend of mine and I joke that we are forever on the “buff ‘n rich” path because that is presumably what will turn women to putty in our hands.

It’s a basic equation where you can be fat, or you can be poor, but you can’t be fat and poor–that’s the no-hina zone and we want to stay far from there.

I’m not advocating for a touch first, ask later policy.

But I do think the confidence behind Trump’s statement is grounded in the cold, hard reality, that money talks, and bullsheey-it walks.

And it doesn’t just apply to men. Look at Ellen Degengeres for cryin’ out loud. That beeatch has lived like three botched lifetimes in the U.S., and yet she can still afford to just pack up and quit America and start fresh in Europe when she feels like it.

And I’m sure Ellen has piggy-backed on the “when you’re a star, they let you do it” philosophy once or twice.

Point is, man or woman, when you become wealthy by acquiring assets, and you start to gain power, and people start “letting you do it” (whatever that may be, in your respective world), don’t forget to wield your power responsibly.
